Career Services Work
Employment fairs, employer materials, and student-facing communications
Career Services supports SVSU students with career development—resume and portfolio reviews, mock interviews, and connections to employers through on-campus fairs and programs. As the graphic design intern, I produced print and environmental materials for these initiatives, including fair campaigns, partner communications, and event signage. Every piece follows SVSU brand standards for clarity and recognition.
Employment Fair Materials
I was in charge of creating marketing materials, maps, and signage for several of the employment fairs held by our office. With the goal of attracting as many students as possible, I made sure to develop a visual style across multiple advertisements that was distinctly "SVSU", but also used aspects in new ways.
The business cardinal ("COOP") was a new graphic I commissioned based on previous COOP designs. Giving him professional attire and a dynamic pose helped educate students on what to wear, while also encouraging them to see themselves successfully networking with future employers.
Stickers
Several sticker designs were created for Student Employee Appreciation Week, all rooted in SVSU branding while still tying into the theme of each year.
Employment Fair Signs
Employer partners receive reserved tables near the front of each employment fair, accompanied by custom signs and table graphics I designed for their spaces.
Employer Partnership Program
Using SVSU's updated brand standards and colors helped these materials feel more official and more closely aligned with the university. I designed several handouts and presentation documents advertising the program alongside employer development specialist Heather van Sumeren.
The Road Map in particular contributed to a 10% increase in employers utilizing their benefits for 2025–2026.
